This tour is designed for US veterans or people who are interested in information about Vietnam War or weapons used by North &South army during war time. Giving you an overview about Vietnam War.
DAY 1 HO CHI MINH – CITY DISCOVERY TOUR (B/ /)
In the morning guide will pick you up at the hotel and start the city tour around the most bustle place in Viet Nam,Ho Chi Minh city,aslo known as Sai Gon, visiting War Remnants Museum where displays some US military weapons left during Viet Nam War and a lot of graphic photographs reminding you of the bloodiest battle field in the world in 1970s.Another visit to Reunification Palace, the headquarter for south Viet Nam government. A photo stop at Notre Dame Cathedral, one of the oldest Catholic churches in the country with excellent architecture and General Post Office Designed by Gustav Eiffel. A cup of Saigon coffee is a sweet end of the city tour. Hotel check- in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
DAY 2 HO CHI MINH –CU CHI TUNNEL (B/ /)
In the morning take over one -hour driving away Sai Gon to Cu Chi District which is about 60km from the center of Ho Chi Minh to the west to see a special underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. You then spend few hours there to explore the maze of tunnels in Cu Chi. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters caused by B52 bombing.. By the way, watching a film to know more how the tunnels were constructed and how North Vietnamese regular soldiers struggled against South Vietnamese soldiers and US army, how guerrillas managed to stay underground many days and how they dispersed smoke from their cooking. Returning to Sai Gon .Free in the afternoon for a relaxation. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
DAY 3 HO CHI MINH – DA NANG
In the morning, take the morning flight from Sai Gon to Da Nang, the third biggest city in the country, stop at Red Beach where 4000 US marine soldiers landed in March, 1965 to john into Vietnam War. Then Starting to drive around to the top of Son Tra Peninsula, known as Monkey Mountain to see old US heliport and radar station once used as “Holly eyes’’ outlook over Indochina. On the way down, paying a visit at Linh Ung Pagoda with big Lady Buddha Statue, then photo shop at fishing village with hundreds of coracle boats on the beach at the foot of Monkey Mountain, Da Nang beach, once used as R&R beach by US soldiers during Viet Nam war, some airplane hangars.Stop for a cup of coffee before visiting Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge, Dragon-carp statue, Da Nang city emblem, Final stop at city military museum to see a lot of weapon used by both sides during Viet Nam war. Then transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight in Da Nang.
DAY 4 DA NANG – MỸ LAI MASSACRE – DA NANG
In the morning, take an 1,5 hour driving on the Danang- Quang Ngai highway to visit a famous place in Viet Nam war, MỸ LAI Massacre, Vietnam War mass murder of unarmed South Vietnamese civilians by U.S. troops on 18 of March,1968.An event is called “the most shocking episode of the Vietnam War”. Arriving there, watching a short video about the returning trip of two US helicopter gunners who rescued villagers from massacre. Then walking around the village, standing on the house foundations where locals killed and memorial. Having lunch there before driving back Da Nang. Overnight in Da Nang.
DAY 5 DA NANG – HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN (B/ /)
In the morning, transfer from Nang to Hoi An town for a city discovery tour by paying a visit to Tan Ky old house, a typical represent for wealthy merchant’s house in the past, Chinese Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, a gathering place for home-away Chinese traders, Japanese covered bridge, the symbol for the town, lively market and Hoi An traditional handicraft demonstration where you could see how Hoianian raise silkworms to produce silk for embroidering gorgeous paintings and fold-up lanterns. Free time for shopping before bringing you back hotel. Overnight in Da Nang.
DAY 6 DA NANG – HUE IMPERIAL CITY (B/L/)
Check out the hotel, you will be on one of the most incredible roads with green mountains, pass and vast brackish water lagoon on the way to Hue. Stop at Red Beach, where US marine landed in 1965, driving over Hai Van Pass (the pass of ocean a cloud), one of the most fantastic top in the country, enjoying the spectacular view of sky and sea. Stop on the top to see military concrete Bunkers built in the war time and Lang Co bay for pictures. Arriving in HUE, visiting the Citadel of Hue, Thien Mu pagoda. Overnight in Hue.
DAY 7 HUE – QUANG TRI DMZ TOUR –HUE (B/L/)
In the morning drive about 1,5 hours from Hue city to Quang Tri province where cut Viet Nam off into two different parts in during Vietnam War. Arriving there, visiting Vinh Moc village tunnel, a legendary tunnel system dug by the locals for their survival on the firing homeland. Continue to visit DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) area including Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, Doc Mieu old US military base and military martyr cemetery, Khe Sanh, rock pile. Photo stop at war relics and Quang Tri Citadel, a decisive battle field for Peace Agreement in 1973.Then driving back Hue. Overnight in Hue.
DAY 8 HUE – HA NOI – THE CAPITAL DISCOVERY DAY (B/ /)
Taking the morning flight to Ha Noi, arriving in Noi Bai airport, meet your guide and transfer to the central city and start to explore HA NOI, the political and cultural capital of Viet Nam. Firstly, visiting Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum Complex, an also pilgrimage site for many Vietnamese, where he lived and his body is being preserved. Here you could understand more about Hồ Chí Minh life and his careen, the greatest leader of the country. Then visiting One-pillar pagoda, one of the oldest and famous one in the country. Continue to visit Temple of literature founded in 1076, the first university of Vietnam, where educated Vietnam’ royalty, mandarins and members of the elite and Ha Noi Hilton Prison,Thang Long Citadel used as commanding center for Ho Chi Minh general attack campaign. Also visiting Ngoc Son temple and The Huc bridge on the sword lake. Overnight in Ha Noi.
